Honeybee on a white flower

The October 24 meeting of the Toe Cane Beekeepers Association’s will kick off with a potluck dinner at 6 p.m. While the elections results and some other club business will be attended to after dinner, the meeting will largely be a social occasion and a way to thank our outgoing board members. It will also include a wrap-up of the busy 2023 beekeeping season and a look ahead to 2024.

Attendees are asked to bring a dish and serving utensils for the potluck. The club will provide beverages, dishware and silverware.

Our more senior members will recall that before the pandemic put an end to in-person meetings, the monthly meeting of the Toe Cane Beekeepers association included a potluck dinner. This is a throwback to those days and a way to tie a bow on the 2023 beekeeping season.

The meeting will be held at the Trinity Episcopal Church, 15 Hemlock Ave. in Spruce Pine. Please note the earlier 6 p.m. starting time!

This will be the final meeting of the year. Meetings will resume in February or March.
