Toe Cane Beekeepers once again will have a booth in the Mt. Mitchell Craft Fair in downtown Burnsville offering HONEY, bee-themed T-shirts and educational opportunities for the whole family.
The fair is Friday and Saturday, August 5-6 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Please join us as we educate thousands of visitors about the importance of honey bees and other pollinators, and sell honey and t-shirts to benefit the club and its educational mission.
We hope to have club members volunteer to staff the booth both days, so if you’d like to help us, please sign up for a few hours at the following address

We’re also asking for donations of a few jars of your honey to be sold to raise money for the club. Just bring your jars, properly labeled, when you come to the fair. Sales of this honey and t-shirts are used to help offset club expenses to bring educational programs to the community, including speakers at club meetings, sponsoring Future Farmers of America projects through the area high schools, and staging education events at area schools and civic clubs, 4-H groups and others.
And don’t forget our regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, July 26, at 6:30 p.m. featuring Alison McAfee, speaking about how extreme heat affects bees’ fertility and survival.
This is a Zoom meeting, open to the public. To access it:
